About the H6PF back pressure regulators

The H6PF units are based upon the standard Research series. The main difference is the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure of the unit (MAWP). This High Flow series is available up to 412 bar (6000 PSI).

The orifice pattern is the same as any other High Flow series, but just like the H3PF units, the footprint is slightly larger. For a valve with a Cv value of 0,35, a diameter of 70 mm and a height of 42 mm it is still extremely compact. With this unit, you can control upstream pressure from 1…1000 m3n/h of Air or 4 m3/h of water at a pressure of 400 bar. The pressure rangeability has got a turn down of roughly 1:50. This makes the unit a very versatile.

Like almost every Equilibar® valve, this unit can handle two-phase flow and supercritical media as well. It is even used for media containing particles. Of course, it is always better to use a filter upstream of any control valve. In some cases, it is simply unavoidable to keep particle out of the media (in like f.i. in crystallization processes). For those applications, smooth control with limited maintenance can be achieved by applying these units. Of course, the size and amount of the particles are of an influence on the success rate of such application. The maintenance level depends mainly on the abrasiveness of the particles.
